Hacking a Wii - is It Worth It?
Kindle, Wi-Fi, Graphite, 6" Display with New E Ink Pearl Technology - includes Special Offers & Sponsored Screensavers Many people hack their wii. It sometimes turns out great, other times it goes horribly wrong. I'm going to tell you the positive and negatives about hacking a wii.

When you hack your wii, you are downloading the homebrew channel. This channel allows you to add more functions and other channels to your wii. You can view DVDs and play games on consoles like gameboy or play station 1. But is it really worth it to hack it? Here are some advantages and disadvantages to hacking your wii.

Advantages
  1. Does not require a mod chip like other consoles
  2. Allows you to add apps that you normally wouldn't be able to have
  3. Allows you to play games made by certain hacking groups
  4. Many guides to doing it yourself
Disadvatages
  1. There is a chance you may "brick" your wii
  2. May void warranty of the wii
  3. Requires an SD card and Zelda Twilight Princess/Super Smash Bros.
  4. Able to download N64 and SNES games that are downloadable through the Homebrew channel with a Nintendo card. This is purchased in any game store
If you decide to hack your wii, make sure you know 100% what your doing. I don't know, but a friend of mine claims you can get free wii games (haven't proved you can) on you SD card. If you screw up your wii, remember it is your own fault. Here are some websites that have guides to this:

There are many more guides unlisted. Note that I personally have not hacked my wii. Do it at your own risk. I will not be held responsible if anything goes wrong.
